Moxifloxacin 0.5 % Eye Drop is for external use only. Take it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Hold the dropper close to the eye without touching it. Gently squeeze the dropper and place the medicine inside the lower eyelid. Wipe off extra liquid. Avoid skipping any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better.

It may cause eye discomfort, dry eyes and burning sensation in the eyes immediately following application. However, these side effects are temporary and usually subside on their own. Moxifloxacin+loteprednol Etabonate belongs to a group of medications called ‘Antibiotics and Corticosteroids’ used to treat bacterial eye infections or eye discomfort. It is also used in patients who have undergone eye surgeries. It is used to treat eye inflammation caused by allergies, shingles, iritis (inflammation of the coloured part of the eye (iris)), uveitis (inflammation of the middle layer of the eye (uvea)), eye injury, radiation, and chemical burns. A bacterial eye infection occurs when bacteria invade any part of the eyeball or its surrounding tissues, including the cornea (clear front surface of the eye) and the conjunctiva (thin membrane lining the outer eye and inner eyelids). Moxifloxacin+loteprednol Etabonate is used to prevent or treat only bacterial eye infections. It does not work against infections caused by viruses and fungus.

Moxifloxacin+loteprednol Etabonate contains two medicines, namely: Moxifloxacin (antibiotic) and Loteprednol etabonate (corticosteroid). Moxifloxacin belongs to a class of drugs called fluoroquinolone antibiotics that helps in treating and preventing a wide range of bacterial infections. It kills bacteria (bactericidal action) by preventing the synthesis of enzymes, namely DNA gyrase and Topoisomerase II and IV, which is essential for the growth and survival of the bacterial cell. Loteprednol etabonate belongs to the class of corticosteroids. It blocks prostaglandins' production (chemical messengers) that make the eye red, swollen, and itchy. Together, Moxifloxacin+loteprednol Etabonate prevents the spread of eye infections caused by bacteria, and also reduces inflammation and pain.

Moxifloxacin+loteprednol Etabonate is for ophthalmic use only. Your doctor will advise on how often you need to use Moxifloxacin+loteprednol Etabonate based on your medical condition. Some common side effects of Moxifloxacin+loteprednol Etabonate include redness in the eyes, blurred vision, burning or stinging sensation in the eye, and eye discomfort. These side effects do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, you are advised to consult your doctor if you experience any of the side effects persistently.

Please do not use Moxifloxacin+loteprednol Etabonate without consulting your doctor if you have damaged cornea, ulcers in the eye, eye infection, pus, open lesions in the eye, and glaucoma (a condition where the pressure inside the eye is increased). Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding before using Moxifloxacin+loteprednol Etabonate. Avoid touching the eyedropper with bare hands or to the eyelids while administering drops, since it contaminates the dropper tip and solution. If you wear contact lenses, please inform your doctor since Moxifloxacin+loteprednol Etabonate may contain additives like Benzalkonium chloride that change the colour. Timolol ophthalmic should be stored at temperatures between 59 F to 77 F (15 C to 25 C). Protect from light. Do not freeze.

Some timolol ophthalmic products are packaged in foil to protect them from light. It is best to keep the medicine in the foil pouch until you are ready to use it. If you open the foil pouch ahead of time, the medicine should be used within a month. Ask your pharmacist if you are unsure how to store your timolol eye drops.

While less common, the most serious side effects of timolol ophthalmic are described below, along with what to do if they happen.

New or Worsening Heart Failure. Timolol ophthalmic mainly works in the eye, but may be absorbed into the blood and affect other parts of the body, such as the heart. While rare, timolol ophthalmic may cause or worsen heart failure, which is a condition where the heart is not pumping as well as it should. Tell your healthcare provider right away if you have any of the following symptoms of heart failure.

• Shortness of breath or trouble breathing, especially while lying down
• Swelling in your feet, ankles, or legs
• Unusually fast weight gain
• Unusual tiredness

Ophthalmic nepafenac is used to treat eye pain, redness, and swelling in patients who are recovering from cataract surgery (procedure to treat clouding of the lens in the eye). Nepafenac is in a class of medications called nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It works by stopping the production of certain natural substances that cause pain and swelling.

Ophthalmic nepafenac comes as a suspension (liquid) to instill in the eyes. It is usually instilled three times a day beginning one day before cataract surgery, on the day of the surgery, and for 14 days after the surgery. Use nepafenac eye drops at around the same times every day. Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully, and ask your doctor or pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand. Use nepafenac eye drops exactly as directed. Do not use more or less of them or use them more often than prescribed by your doctor.

1. Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water.
2. Check the dropper tip to make sure that it is not chipped or cracked.
3. Avoid touching the dropper tip against your eye or anything else; eye drops and droppers must be kept clean.
4. While tilting your head back, pull down the lower lid of your eye with your index finger to form a pocket.
5. Hold the dropper (tip down) with the other hand, as close to the eye as possible without touching it.
6. Brace the remaining fingers of that hand against your face.
7. While looking up, gently squeeze the dropper so that a single drop falls into the pocket made by the lower eyelid. Remove your index finger from the lower eyelid.
8. Close your eye for 2 to 3 minutes and tip your head down as though looking at the floor. Try not to blink or squeeze your eyelids.
9. Place a finger on the tear duct and apply gentle pressure.
10. Wipe any excess liquid from your face with a tissue.
11. If you are to use more than one drop in the same eye, wait at least 5 minutes before instilling the next drop.
12. Replace and tighten the cap on the dropper bottle. Do not wipe or rinse the dropper tip.
13. Wash your hands to remove any medication.
